The hotel

The Relais de la Mothe is an old post station from the 18th Century and is situated on the boundaries of three regions: la Touraine, Le Poitou and Le Berry. These three regions have been marked by the history of France since the beginning of time: prehistoric sites, stately chateaus, and not to forget nature in its many different facets: hills and valleys, the ponds and pools of Le Brenne, and rivers for bathing or canoeing.

This charming hotel, adjacent to the village church, diffuses the warm ambiance of a French country house: rooms with exposed beams and chimneys; others with bright and modern tints; a lounge where settees await he or she whom wish to curl up by the fireplace; corridors and nooks and crannies where you may lose your sense of orientation…The garden, bathed with sunlight is bordered by walkways reminiscent of a small cloisters or Spanish hacienda; a call to tranquility, to reading or to dream.

This painting would be left incomplete without the mention of its semi-gastronomic restaurant. A seasonal kitchen, exquisite to the taste buds and attractive to the eye is served in a dining room where the sweet breath of the orangery just outside mingles with the warm atmosphere…
